​​BIOGRAFÍA

 

La artista chileno-estadounidense Michele Krauss ha pasado gran parte de su vida adulta en el extranjero. Sus extensos viajes le han permitido estudiar arquitectura de interiores, diseño y arte en centros culturales como Milán, Londres, San Francisco, Miami, Madrid, Boston y Nueva York. Sus frecuentes mudanzas han influido profundamente en su obra, reflejando temas de movimiento constante, conflicto interno entre estabilidad y asentamiento, y la tensión entre conformidad y libertad.

​

Krauss ha expuesto su obra a nivel nacional e internacional en ferias de arte contemporáneo, exposiciones individuales y colectivas en Italia, Chile, Australia, Francia, Japón y Estados Unidos. Sus obras han sido seleccionadas y reconocidas en exposiciones con jurado por curadores de prestigiosas instituciones, como el MoMA, el Guggenheim y el Museo Metropolitano de Arte. de Nueva York.

Su trabajo ha aparecido en publicaciones internacionales como Revista COSAS, Art Journal y Harper's Bazaar. Además, en 2015, sus pinturas fueron seleccionadas por los Curadores de Arte del Departamento de Estado de EE. UU. para exhibirse en la Embajada de EE. UU. en Santiago de Chile. Su obra también forma parte de numerosas colecciones privadas y corporativas en todo el mundo.

Tras establecerse durante más de 12 años en la ciudad de Nueva York, donde mantuvo su estudio de arte y se inspiró continuamente en la diversidad, singularidad y energía catalizadora de la ciudad, Krauss decidió adoptar un ritmo de vida más tranquilo en Connecticut. Rodeada de naturaleza, pero a la vez cerca de la ciudad, disfruta de un equilibrio entre la tranquilidad y el acceso continuo a la creatividad urbana.

DECLARACION ARTISTICA

​

Mi enfoque artístico se centra en la creación de paisajes abstractos que exploran la transformación, tanto en la naturaleza como en la experiencia humana. Si bien mis obras anteriores expresaban sutilmente narrativas personales y sociales, estos aspectos aún influyen en mi perspectiva. Sin embargo, mi práctica ha evolucionado hacia una mayor interacción con los ritmos, las formas y el cambio continuo de la naturaleza.

Trabajo en paneles de madera, lienzo y papel, incorporando materiales como pintura al óleo, alambre y arena, y más recientemente, tinta Sumi y papel japonés. A través de capas de texturas y materiales entrelazados, exploro la interacción entre movimiento y quietud, estructura y fluidez. Mi trabajo refleja la yuxtaposición inherente al mundo que nos rodea, entre lo orgánico y lo artificial, lo fugaz y lo permanente, lo controlado y lo espontáneo.

En el centro de mi práctica reside la fascinación por los contrastes, tanto físicos como emocionales, moldeados por mis experiencias globales. Los paisajes, ya sean externos o internos, están en constante transformación. En mi obra, busco capturar estos cambios, permitiendo que los materiales y las formas interactúen de maneras que revelen algo más allá de lo visible.

​

El arte no existe de forma aislada; participa en el mundo y lo transforma. Cada pintura lleva en sí un diálogo: entre el artista y el medio, entre el pasado y el presente, entre la pieza y el espectador. Mi objetivo es crear obras que resuenen más allá de la superficie, forjando una conexión que trascienda el tiempo y continúe evolucionando a través de la interacción y la percepción.
